Sculptra Aesthetic Rejunivation

Sculptra Aesthetic is a non-animal, biodegradable, injectable dermal filler. It is a synthetic product containing poly-l-lactic acid and is for use in people with healthly immune systems to restore facial volume.

Sculptra has been used on the NHS for many years and is licenced for the use of Human Immunodeficiency Virus associated facial lipoatrophy (facial fat loss) 

Sculptra is reconstituted and then injected deep into the skin layer to help stimulate collagen production thereby plumping facial contours, lines and wrinkles in the skin from within.

Collagen is an important protein to maintain our youthness and within 6-8 weeks facial skin looks smoother and softer.

A course of 3-4 treatments are generally required with each treatment session spaced at least 8 weeks apart. Once the completed course has been given the final result may last up to 2 years. 

Possible Side Effects

As with any injections there may be swelling, bruising and some redness of the areas treated that settles within a few days. Massage folllowing Sculptra sessions is extremely important to reduce possible side effects but at first consultation full advice will be given.  On occassions some people may suffer with the apperance of small lumps or nodules under the skin. These generally are not visible but may be felt under the skin that may settle after a period of time. 

At the first consultation a full medical history and treatment plan is discussed. Important to have before photographs, with regular up-dates to monitor progress of  the treatment. 

A deposit is required before first session treatment due to Sculptra requiring reconstition 7 days beforehand.
