Treatment for Unwanted Facial Thread Veins

Facial thread veins generally appear around the base of the nose , tip of the nose,  on the cheeks and chin.  Many would like these reduced for aesthetic reasons.  May be associated with a condition called Rosacea.   In this case,  the thread veins may require more treatments or a even a different type such as IPL or laser which is not offered at Pure Clinic. 

Vein-wave is suitable for most facial thread veins and uses 'thermocoagulation' to heat and seal the blood vessel. This causes the facial thread veins to  disappear immediately and over a period of 3-4 weeks will settle. On some occasions may look darker at first before being absorbed by the body's natural mechanism. 

A full medical history and consultation is required, including consent and photographs.  On the day of treatment advised you attend with no make up on.

Treatment.

The skin is cleansed thoroughly

The vein-wave fine needle is placed into the vein and the  'thermo coagulation' heat is released. You will hear a click when the machines pedal is pressed.  Initially will feel a short sting and some heat that  does settles almost immediately. The treated areas may feel warm  The vein-wave consists of the fine needle treating along the length of the  vein. 

Post treatment

You will initially feel some heat that does settles quickly. A cold compress will be applied immediately 

You may see some mild swelling or even a small bruise at the site of treatment.

This treatment generally settles within 4-6 hours .depending upon skin type.

Within 2-3 days may develop a small brown graze over treatment area that seals the skin, and does come away after a few days. Most people do not even notice this healing process. 

No make up for 24 hours to allow the treatment to heal 

May need more than one treatment session spaced 4-6 weeks apart .
